Newly registered Skeddy drivers often don’t have much experience with the scheduled rides.
Conducting scheduled rides is fundamentally different from doing online rides, so below are some factors that you should consider while working them out.
Important:
By the statistics, about 50% of scheduled rides are canceled either by the passengers themselves or by Lyft due to insufficient funds in the passenger's account.
Scheduled rides workflow:
- Lyft app notifies you with a push notification about your next scheduled ride an hour before the pickup time. Information about the ride as well as the approximate time of departure for this ride appears on the Lyft app screen.
- 20 minutes before the pickup time, try to be no more than 15 miles away from the pickup address. Skeddy will help you determine how long it will take you to get there:
- Coming directly to the pickup address in advance is unnecessary because this ride can be canceled, and you will waste your time and gas.
- About 19 minutes before the pickup time, go online. Then the inscription “Destination filter set” will appear in the Lyft app.
In theory, this means that the Lift will not offer you other online rides for acceptance, except for your booked ride. However, in practice, this is not always the case: sometimes Lyft sends you another, not scheduled but online ride for acceptance, so be careful. - Next, on the screen with the acceptance button, there should be an inscription “Your scheduled pickup”.
If there is no such inscription, then cancel this wrong ride.
Of course, in this case, your acceptance rate will decrease by 1 point, but if you accept this wrong online ride, you will most likely earn much less and lose your scheduled one.
This kind of ride change doesn't happen often, but it does happen and it's important to be aware of it. - Finally, your scheduled ride comes to you for acceptance. After you have accepted it, a route to the pickup address appears in Lyft.
Unfortunately, it's too early to rejoice: while driving to the pickup location, the route in the Lyft app may disappear, which means that the ride was canceled after your acceptance.
A small consolation will be the compensation received from Lyft for the traveled section of the road from the moment you accepted the ride to its disappearance.
Don't be discouraged, because the scenarios above don't happen that often, and in most cases, everything goes like clockwork.
