Drivers often complain that they don't get enough rides. Below are some tips on working with the most important Skeddy settings that will help you get more rides:
How to properly position search pins:
Since March 1 2023, the newly registered drivers get 3 search pins: one is located where you were at the time of registration, and the other two are at the points (red zones) with the highest frequency of scheduled rides closest to the first one.
The drivers registered before March 1 2023 were getting just 2 search pins at the time of registration, so we strongly recommend setting the third one.
The search pins should be placed in the center of the red zones on the map with the maximum number and checked every day as they shift quite often.
Note: If you have just one red zone on the map, then go to the setting "Max miles to pick up" and set it to the maximum. If there are several such zones, then set it to approximately the size of the red zone.
Ideally, 3 pins should not be crossing each other by their green boundaries.
Apart from the red zones, we do not recommend setting up search pins at the airport. The fact is that the passenger never knows exactly when he will show up, so there are very few scheduled rides from the airport.
And even if you find a scheduled ride at the airport, you will have to wait indefinitely.
How to set the optimal “Minimal ride payout” value
This is one of the most sophisticated app settings because it depends on many factors: region, season, weekday or weekend, and so on.
By default, this setting is set in the app for $20, but many drivers immediately change it to the maximum value, which is $60, thus tremendously reducing the number of found rides.
We recommend increasing this value by no more than $5 per day until there are very few rides.
After that, you can return to the optimal value and edit it from time to time. For testing this value select weekdays only.
How to define the correct working hours:
90% of all scheduled rides are in the rush hour. Therefore, the optimal work time is from 5 to 10 a.m. and from 5 to 10 p.m., which is set in the app by default.
However, many drivers set their working hours to 24 hours a day. They’re quickly gaining a lot of rides that they’re unable to make, which leads to the following unpleasant consequences:
Firstly, the app first assigns new rides to the least booked drivers, so the already overbooked drivers get nothing.
Secondly, if the ride falls at a time when, for example, you are sleeping, then you ignore it and your search for new rides automatically stops until the time you visit the app.
For best results, we recommend immediately deleting rides you definitely won't make.
How to optimize your work with premium rides on Skeddy:
Unfortunately, the Lyft app does not allow you to set the types of accepted rides separately for online and scheduled rides.
We all know that luxury rides are few and far between, but the fact is that the Skeddy app is working with scheduled rides only while allowing you to set the minimum acceptable ride payout.
If before coming to Skeddy, you have set to receive only premium rides from Lyft, we recommend that you change it back to accept all types of rides, define a sufficiently high minimum ride payout in the Skeddy app and give it a try for about a week or so to just working on scheduled rides coming from Skeddy.
According to many Lux and Lux Black drivers, this way you may find yourself in a win-win situation: you will get more scheduled premium rides and will not waste your time idle at the airports.
How to properly manage your ride credits:
First, never run out of credits for booking rides. If you do not have enough credits for booking new rides, the search for these rides will automatically stop and you will lose the opportunity to get a good ride.
For example, if you spend approximately 80 credits per week, we recommend buying more Credits up to this amount when you have at least 20 credits left.
Secondly, replenish your credits in advance during non-working hours because you cannot do that safely while on the road.
Also, please never turn the search off unless you decide to stop working on Lyft for a long period.
Remember that Skeddy is discovering rides 7 days in advance. If you do not want to receive rides, for example, on Saturday, then use the “days off” setting.
How to work with overlapping rides:
First, you may think that the time-overlapping rides are not visible in the Skeddy app but you still see them in the Lyft app. That’s not true: just tap the “View all rides” button and you will see them all.
That said, Skeddy is continuously trying to pass those overlapping rides to other drivers, and vice-versa: the overlapping rides from other drivers will be transferred to you thus filling the gaps in your daily driving schedule.
Secondly, you may think that Lyft may call you for an overlapping ride. No, Lyft will not!
The reason is that Skeddy is smart enough to remove those rides from your list both in the Lyft and Skeddy apps before Lyft starts bothering you: that happens about 65 minutes before the ride’s pickup time.
So, please DO NOT remove those rides in the Lyft app thus letting Skeddy keep all drivers including yourself in a win-win situation.
